đźš” What Are Your Rights During a Traffic Stop?

Don’t guess — know exactly what you can (and don’t have to) do.

If you get pulled over, you’re required to give your license, registration, and proof of insurance — nothing more.

You don’t have to answer questions like “Where are you going” or “Why do you think you were pulled over?”
Just say: “I prefer not to answer.”

You don’t have to let them search your car.
Say: “I do not consent to any searches.”

And if the stop feels dragged out, ask:
“Am I being detained, or am I free to go?”

Stay calm. Speak clearly. Know your rights.
